OUR IMMIGRATION
PHILOSOPHY
My support of open immigration is rooted in my family
history and in my work experience as an FBI agent and a U.S.
Customs agent on the Mexican border.
My grandparents fled a political situation under which they
were persecuted because of their religious background. They
came to America and saw it as their promised land.
On the Mexican border, I observed the migration of
thousands of individuals with no chance of earning a living
wage in their home countries. They entered America as a land
of opportunity where their fortunes would be determined by
their willingness to work and to be productive.
I firmly believe that the United States of America is the
finest nation in which to live and that it’s continued
lifeblood and future will be determined by the descendants of
the immigrants who have settled here during the past 225 years
and by the ones that arrive during the next 225 years.
